Tuesday, 15 September 2020

Week 1 : 14-18 September

Are we going to be friends this year?

As I have told you before , you post as " Anonymus " and sign with your first name only !

GENITIVE CASE

If you have to show joint ownership, give the possessive form to the final name only.

  • Coca Cola's latest advertising campaign.

Companies are often treated like people.

For example:-

When we refer to a particular time (in the present, past or future), it’s possible to use the saxon genitive. For example:

Today’s news.

Last week’s meeting.

Four days’ holiday.

Next year’s budget.

When we refer to a regularly occurring time, we use an adjective, such as ‘daily’, ‘monthly’, ‘annual’, and not the saxon genitive:

What happened at yesterday’s meeting?

Have you read today’s newspaper?

Sara’s got three days’ sick leave.

We need to get ready for this afternoon’s conference.

Next year’s budget is only a little higher than this year’s.
